SBI PO 2019 | SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria for the post of SBI PO:

Educational Qualification
i) The candidate should have a graduation degree in any of the streams such as B.Com, BSc, BA, B.Tech. etc. from a recognised university by the Central or State Government of India.
ii) Candidate should have a fair knowledge of Computer operation.
Language ProficiencyThe candidate should be proficient in reading, writing or speaking the official language of his  State/UT.
NationalityCandidates applying for SBI PO Exam should be one of the following:
i) Citizen of India
ii) A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
iii) Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam or from East India countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Zaire, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi with the intention of settling permanently in India.
iv) Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.
– Candidates belonging to categories ii, iii or iv must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.
AgeApplicants should be more than 21 years old and less than 30 years old while applying for the exam. The age relaxation for different categories are as follows:
i) SC/ST- 5 years
ii) OBC Non-Creamy Layer- 3 years
iii) Persons with Disabilities (PWD)- 10 years
iv) Ex-Servicemen- 5 years
v) Domicile of Jammu & Kashmir during the period of January 1, 1980 to December 31st, 1989

SBI PO Application Form

Step 1Visit the State Bank of India official website:
Step 2On the Open page click on the link “Join.”
Step 3Click on “Click here to apply online for SBI PO” to open the online application form.
Step 4Click on “Click here for new registration.”
Step 5Enter the necessary details, like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Email ID, Mobile Number, etc. to register yourself. A Registration Number and Password will be generated for you. Note them down.  The same will be sent to you to your registered email ID and mobile number. Use the credentials to login.
Step 6Enter your PersonalEducational and other details.
Step 7Upload scanned images of your Photograph, Signature and a Hand-written declaration.
Step 8Click on “Payment” option and proceed to pay your application fee.
Step 9Click on “Submit” to submit your application.
Step 10Take a print out of the application form for future reference.

SBI PO Application Fees

SBI PO application fees is to be paid online. Fees/intimation charge is non-refundable and non-transferable for any future exam. The category-wise application fees for SBI PO 2019 are as under:

Applicants can pay the application fees through Credit cards, Debit cards, and Internet Banking, Mobile Wallet/Cash Cards, and IMPS. It is to be noted that there is no offline payment of fees.

Requirement Of Scanned Documents

When applying for the exam, aspirants need to upload scanned images of their Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression and a Hand-written Declaration. The requirements are as under:
Photograph: Your photograph should be a recent one and passport-sized. Its dimension should be 200 pixels x 230 pixels and the size of the photograph should be 20-50 kb.
Signature, Left Thumb Impression, and Hand-Written Declaration: Aspirants signature should be in black ink on a white paper. Left Thumb Impression should be in black or blue ink on a white paper. Hand-Written Declaration should be written in English with black ink on a white paper. The dimension of the said documents should be 140 pixels x 60 pixels and the size of the documents should be 10-20 kb.

SBI PO Selection Process And Exam Pattern

SBI PO exam follows a three-tier selection process. Candidates are required to get through each of the stages to reach on to the next level. The stages involved in the selection of aspirants are as under:
Stage I: SBI PO Prelims
Stage II: SBI PO Mains
Stage III: Personal Interview
Both the Prelims and Mains are conducted online whereas Personal Interview is conducted Face to Face.

SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern

The SBI PO prelims is an objective type test and is conducted for one hour duration. The exam has 3 sections having a total of 100 questions with a maximum score of 100 marks. For each wrong answer, there is a negative marking of 0.25. In order to reach the SBI PO Mains, it is required of the aspirants to clear the sectional as well as the overall cut off marks for Prelims. The SBI PO Prelims exam pattern is as under:

In order to qualify for SBI PO Mains, aspirants need to clear the SBI PO Prelims. It is advisable that candidates do not take SBI PO Prelims for granted.

SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern

SBI PO Mains has two sections- Objective and Descriptive. Objective section is of 200 marks and Descriptive section carries 50 marks. Both of these tests are taken online. A descriptive test will take place right after the completion of the objective test on the same day.
The SBI PO Mains objective test is of 3 hours duration and consist of 4 sections carrying a total of 200 marks. The objective test has separate timings for every section. The SBI PO Mains exam pattern is as under:

SBI PO descriptive test carries 50 marks with a time duration of 30 minutes. This section tests your English writing skills as it contains two sections: Letter Writing and Essay.

Personal Interview and Final Selection

Only those aspirants who clear the SBI PO Mains will be called for the Personal Interview. The total marks for Personal Interview is 100 and the minimum qualifying marks is 40 percent for General and others and 35 percent for SC/ST/PWD aspirants.
Final merit list is based on the total marks secured by the aspirants in SBI PO Mains and Personal Interview. Mains will carry a weightage of 80 percent whereas Personal Interview will carry 20 percent weightage in the final score counting.

No aspirant will be allowed to take the exam without their SBI PO Admit Card. On the issuance of admit cards, candidates will be notified about it through their registered email and mobile number. In order to download the admit card from the official website of SBI, aspirants need to log in using their Provisional Registration Number and Password.
